Ingredients (4 persons):

  • 800 gr of minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 50 gr of bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 100 ml milk
  • flour
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • parsley
  • For the sauce for the meatballs:
  • 1 onion
  • 1 leek
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • water
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of the meatballs recipe:

For making the meatballs Finely chop the garlic and put it in a bowl, add the meat, the egg, the bread crumbs soaked in the milk and drained, some chopped parsley, a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything well.

Take small portions of dough and give them a rounded shape . Dredge in flour and fry. In a frying pan with abundant oil, remove and set aside.

For make the sauce Chop the onion, leek, carrot, bell pepper, tomato and garlic. Season and sauté them in a casserole with a little oil until they get colored. Pour the wine and 300 ml. of water and let it reduce for 10-15 minutes. Pass it through the puree and place it in a pie dish.

Add the meatballs and cook over low heat. for approximately 5 minutes.

Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve the meatballs in sauce and garnish with a few parsley leaves.

Tip:

If you have some sauce left over, you can use it to make savory torrijas. Simply soak the slices of bread well, coat them in flour and egg, and fry them in a pan with oil.
