Olivia Lavergne travelled to Berlin, New York, and Guyana, then explored tropical dense vegetation and luxurious forests with a more personal focus. Since 2011, Olivia Lavergne has been working on the perception and metamorphosis of landscapes, both artificial and natural.
In her latest work she has explored the mythical dimension of forests, playing with themes of storytelling and ethnographical research. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the AFAR Travel Photography Award (2018), the Moscow International Foto Award (2015), the LensCulture Emerging Talent Award (2014) and the Coup de Coeur ARTE Actions Culturelles prize (2013).

Jungles is the result of ten years of work by artist Olivia Lavergne. Built in the same way as cinema does, a fluide montage of images that offers storytelling. It is a large format book in order to offer the possibility to dive in the landscape and feel closer to the scene and actions. We are in the steps of a mysterious woman, she is casually dressed and sink deep in the forest.
The middle of the book offers an astonishing series of beautifully litten trees loved with the word of Bérangère Cornut that echoes deep in relation with Lavergne photos.
The third part of the book leads the reader in the wake of a Mentawaï family, (the flower men) the atmosphere is somewhere between reality and imaginary. Jungles, is anchored on this so contemporary questioning the relation between Nature and Humans.
